Get Eggcellent Skin!

We scramble them, fry them, boil them, crack them. We love them with our bread and bacon in the mornings. Eggs not only make great breakfast food and an excellent ingredient in baked goods  – they also make an excellent natural face mask!

Ok, so maybe it may seem strange to put raw eggs on your face or hair but they can do wonders for your skin!

Did you know that raw eggs are excellent in skin toning, moisturizing, smoothing and preventing the signs of aging? Eggs are rich in protein, vitamins and minerals to help nourish the skin. The natural proteins found in raw eggs (both the yolk and the egg white) can greatly improve the appearance of skin on our face, under our eyes and our neck!

Egg yolks contain a lot of albumin. Albumin is known to for its drying effect on skin, tightening pores and therefore firming the skin! Egg whites, on the other hand, also tighten the skin but they also narrow the pores, reducing the risk of dirt clogging that cause pimples. We especially love egg whites – they are great for cleansing and exfoliation! If you have oily skin, egg facials are best for you! Egg white masks really work because the egg proteins constrict as they dry on your face, pulling at the dried layer of cells on top of your skin. When your rinse off the egg white from your face, the loose cells get washed off as well.

Today, we picked 3 of our favorite egg facial recipes for you. Have an egg-citing time with these facials!

Her Twitter name caught our attention – @IEatTrees. Curious, we checked out her blog and voila! – we found another vegan chef whose mouth-watering food photos convinced us that she has an interesting story to tell! Turns out, we were right. Today, stay-at-home mom Keri shares about her vegan journey and her delicious scrambled tofu!

Through my late teens and into my early 20s, I was the worst kind of consumer. I just purchased what was put in front of me and what I thought was convenient. For me, and this may sound odd, my journey to veganism began in 2008 with high fructose corn syrup.

Put the luster back in your locks!

Don’t you just hate it when your hair seems dull and lifeless? We’ve had our share of bad hair days and we’re sure you agree that it can ruin your mood and a perfectly good outfit!

Dry hair is dull hair, and this can be caused by both external and internal factors such as exposure to harsh chemicals or illness. The most common reasons for lackluster locks are:

  • Harsh shampoos or shampooing too often
  • Hair treatments (color and perm)
  • Chlorine in swimming pools and hot tubs
  • Excessive or improper use of blow dryer or curling iron
  • Too much exposure to sun and wind

Be Shine-Free!

Struggling with oily, shiny skin?  Those of us who suffer from an oil-laden T-zone would often wish that the problem would vanish overnight and be replaced with a healthy, radiant complexion. Skin that is oily attracts more dust and dirt to the skin surface, and we all know that excessive oil and dirt build-up can clog pores. As a result, acne breakouts can occur and larger skin pores develop, giving skin a rough appearance! Needless to say, oily skin isn’t pretty at all!
